Vertigo is the cause of panic attacks? im confused?

Hey Guys!,

Sorry if this may seem a little long. Im 22 and on sataday just gone i had what seemed like my first panic attack, i could not breathe, everything was blurred and my heart was racing like mad, i really thought i was going to die. Anyway i calmed down abit when the ambulance guys got their and they said i would feel crappy for about 4-6 hours after that but then i should feel ok again. Its now been four days and i have this constant spacey/dizzy feeling, and everyday i get what feels like is a panic attack coming on again. I went to the doctors 2 hours ago and he suggests its definetly more vertigo related as my heart/blood pressure and eyes all seem fine.

I have no past experiance of panic attacks and im normally a pretty laid back guy. And i really feel its the constant dizzyness that brings on these so called attacks when i get them. I cant really stand bright light and my ears feel full and im always tired no matter what….I was wondering if you guys think it souns more like vertigo too? when i go outide it feels like the floor is coming at me or the houses are falling in….i just hope it is vertigo and not a panic disorder…as vertigo just needs alot of rest to cure it and a panic disorder needs meds and treatment.

why bother to go to your doctor if you are not going to trust his judgement? Your symptoms do sound like vertigo, and a really bad bout of vertigo can lead to a panic attack because your body responds to the feeling that you are going to fall by producing adrenaline. Just follow your doctor’s orders and you should be fine.
